This morning we decided to get away from our normal breakfast and have something a little sweeter. While I’ve been watching my weight lately, since it is the day of the big game, we thought something a little sweet was in order.
Making cinnamon rolls with puff pastry is actually relatively simple. Once the puff pastry is adequately defrosted, use a roller to flatten it even further. Once you’ve completed that simply roll it up after inserting some butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar. So all of the flavorful ingredients are rolled directly into the puff pastry.
Like with most puff pastry recipes, at this point you will have a log of all of your ingredients. Heat your oven to the appropriate baking temperature. Cut the log in to approximately 1 and 1/2 inch slices and place them approximately 2 inches apart from each other on a buttered baking dish. We add a small pile of brown sugar to the top of each roll to prevent them from drying out.
We bake them for roughly 15 to 20 minutes. You can experiment with this to determine the consistency you like. Remove from the oven and let cool.
In our case we determine the frosting isn’t necessary. The crispy cinnamon rolls made from puff pastry are perfect as it is.
